Essential Guide

Aftercare for Nano Brows and Ombre Brows

Follow these instructions carefully for optimal healing and the best results from your permanent makeup procedure.

Failure to follow aftercare instructions may result in loss of pigmentation or infection.

Immediately After (First 1-2 Days)

What to Expect:

  • The area will feel a bit sore and look intense
  • There may be some swelling and minor bruising that lasts for 1-2 days
  • Scabs will fall off within 7-14 days depending on your skin and the procedure
  • The color of the tattoo will darken as scabs begin to form

The Day of Treatment

  • Fluids will leak from the tattoo to form scabs
  • Wipe your tattoo every hour with a wet cotton round
  • Pat the area dry to ensure no fluids sit and form scabs
  • Ice the skin if it is feeling tender or swollen

Tip: Wrap an ice pack or a ziplock of ice in a napkin and place on the area for as long as desired

Day 2-14 (Healing Phase)

Do's

  • Gently wash your brows with lukewarm water
  • Pat dry with a dry cotton pad
  • Moisturize with the recommended ointment (very sheer layer)
  • For lips: Moisturize as often as you like
  • For oily skin: Let eyeliner and eyebrows heal without ointment
  • Try to avoid sleeping on your face to prevent lifting scabs
  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase to avoid infection

Don'ts

  • Touch your tattoo with dirty fingers - it's an open wound
  • Get your tattoo too wet for too long
  • Pick, scratch, or bite off the scabs
  • Sleep on your face
  • Apply harsh cleansers, creams, or makeup on the treated area
  • Expose your tattoo to UV rays or tanning beds for 4 weeks
  • Sweat on the tattoo until all scabs have come off
  • Get facials, Botox, or chemical treatments for 4 weeks

Important: Keep the scabs on for as long as you can. Picking can cause scarring, loss of pigment, or infection.

After Scabbing Phase

What to Expect

  • Complete healing takes 6 weeks
  • At 6 weeks, the true and final color will show
  • Touch-up can only be done after 6 weeks
  • The tattoo may have a milky/grey hue after scabs come off
  • Your tattoo will be softer and not as crisp when healed
  • Results vary with each individual

Products to Avoid

These products can lighten or fade your tattoo faster:

  • Benzoyl Peroxide
  • Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Glycolic acid
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Vitamin E and C
  • Retinol

Recommendations

  • Wear sunscreen - UV rays will fade the tattoo faster
  • Rinse with water after salt water or chlorine contact
  • Apply makeup over the area once fully healed
  • Return to your normal routine
